A Europe-based CPG major with 2000+ leading brands in the food and beverage sector places great importance on its products being available 24/7.
To ensure this, the company wanted to minimize the susceptibility of its raw material procurement to ongoing volatility.
The client's procurement system was straining under inefficiency. The legacy purchasing and risk management method was laden with delays, manual errors and lacked dynamic data, resulting in stock-outs. They required a centralized command center, not just any makeshift solution but a bespoke hub engineered for high-stakes decision-making in an increasingly complex procurement landscape.
The client turned to Tredence to build a state-of-the-art supply chain command center (SCCC) that could anticipate multidimensional risks and greatly reduce stock-outs that hamper production.

We designed a global command center in alignment with Gartner's recommendations that unified 200+ internal and external data points. The command center displays live stock and shipment statuses, provides a six-month multidimensional risk outlook for each material at each plant, and more. Two algorithms within the solution enable sourcing teams to make quick decisions for procurement efficiency:
Higher-Accuracy Lead Time Prediction for Orders: A complex web of internal metrics, logistical data, and external forces like weather and socio-political events is built together, delivering precise order timelines.
Stock-out Possibility Score (SPS): This metric evaluates the risk for each raw material by considering item-specific data, market trends, and dynamic risk variables, ensuring that our client's sourcing teams have their fingers on the pulse of procurement, ready to spring into action at any time.
